THE Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) will mark World Day for Decent Work with a number of demands.
COSATU Gauteng Provincial Shop Stewards Council will commemorate the event on Tuesday.
The specific demands the union is making include the ban of labour brokers, scrapping of tax incentives, reinstation of the Generations 16, decent work for all creative workers, defeating moves to curb workers’ constitutional right to strike, scrappinge-tolls, organising and defending vulnerable workers, ending the strike of capital and a national minimum wage.
Dumisani Dakile, COSATU Gauteng Provincial Secretary, said the meeting would begin at 09h00 in the Johannesburg City Hall, President Street, and be followed at 12h00 by a march to the offices of Link Market Services SA (agents for labour brokers Adcorp) at in Braamfontein, and the Gauteng Minister of Finance in Johannesburg to hand over memorandums.
